Reading challenges for all ages start June 3rd!

Pick one or pick all. Sign up before the event using your library card on the Card Catalog system or call the Library. We will have Sewing, Knitting/Crochet, Basics of Chemistry, Basics of Physics, and Stop Motion Movie Making!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Allan Shivers Library and Museum is to provide facilities, materials, information, and services that support the diverse needs and requirements of our community, in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. 

The Allan Shivers Museum invites the public to step into the life, career, and accomplishments of Governor Allan Shivers to preserve, educate, and share his role in contributing to the history of Texas.

Free GED Classes in Tyler County.

Enrollment for online GED test preparation classes is now open to 17-year-old and older adults who are interested in obtaining a High School Equivalency Certificate (GED). Classes are offered via text, phone, or email and as morning or evening instruction. For more information, call (409) 283-8757.

An 1880's home that has been converted into a museum for items from the life and times of the second longest governor, Allan Shivers.
