Blind Date with a Book is coming to a close. Thank you to all who have checked out the books and thank you for filling out our survey. We look forward to next year and sharing new and old favorite books. 


Tyler County is 170 years old!

We are having a book display of local authors and books about the Tyler county area.



The Allan Shivers Library has been at this location for 50 years!

To celebrate our anniversary the Friends of the Library will be hosting the Fall Fundraiser early on November 17th from 5:30 - 7:30. Tickets are $20 and you will receive a wine glass to take home. Tickets are limited so purchase early!

The Allan Shivers Museum has elegant gowns of Mrs. Shivers and their daughter, authentic Victorian front parlor room with furnishings of the period, an African Safari room, and original political cartoons from Allan Shivers time in office.

                Hours of Library Operation

Monday - Friday 9-5 (computers shut off at 4:45)

Saturday 10-2 (computers shut off at 1:45)

Sunday - CLOSED

CLOSED - New Years Eve and New Years Day

 Museum hours

Mon.--Fri.    9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. & 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Closed: 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
